Coming Soon: A Gentle, Joyful Preschool Journey Through Africa
We’re so excited to introduce a brand-new preschool curriculum designed to celebrate one of the most beautiful, diverse places in the world—Africa! Created with little learners in mind (ages 3–5+), this unit gently weaves together geography, culture, nature, art, music, and faith through stories, crafts, songs, and hands-on play.
This isn’t just a curriculum—it’s an invitation to explore.
Over five thoughtfully designed lessons, children will discover the wonder of African animals, the joy of African music and dance, the meaning behind African art, and the beauty of African people and communities. At the heart of each lesson is a preschool nonfiction reader, written in warm, simple language just for this age group—and featuring real photographs that bring the lessons to life in an authentic and engaging way.
Featured Reader: Africa Is a Big, Beautiful Place
We begin our journey with a gentle introduction to the continent itself through the reader Africa Is a Big, Beautiful Place. This lesson invites children to:
• Find Africa on the map and see how big it really is
• Discover the beauty of deserts, jungles, mountains, and rivers
• Learn about animals that live there—like elephants, lions, and giraffes
• Peek into the daily life of people who live in both villages and cities
• Hear greetings in different African languages (like “Jambo!”)
• See colorful clothing, patterns, and traditions
• And most importantly—realize that Africa is part of God’s beautiful creation
With real photos on every page, children get a meaningful, true-to-life look at the people, places, and natural beauty of the continent—giving them a deep sense of connection and wonder.
To make this reader even more meaningful, we’ve paired it with the Bible story of Creation from Genesis 1—reminding children that God made the whole world, including every river, tree, mountain, and child in Africa. It’s the perfect foundation for a unit built on curiosity, connection, and worship.
What’s Included with the Curriculum?
Alongside each reader, you’ll find:
• Simple discussion questions to guide thoughtful conversations
• Creative, hands-on activities like collages, pretend play, animal movement games, and pattern painting
• A rotating sensory bin inspired by African landscapes and life
• Bible stories and memory verses that gently connect God’s Word to what your child is discovering
• A Parent/Teacher guide with tips for leading discussions and adapting the lessons
• And again—real-life photos throughout every lesson to help children see and feel the beauty of Africa as it truly is
Whether you’re a homeschool parent, a preschool teacher, or a caregiver seeking meaningful learning experiences, this curriculum is designed to be flexible, engaging, and rooted in faith. It’s a great way to help children connect with the world around them, learn about Africa, and grow in their understanding of God’s creation.
